MSC Cruises has unveiled new details and imagery of its upcoming flagship, MSC World Asia, spotlighting one of its most eye-catching features: The Spiral @ Tree of Life, set to become the longest dry slide at sea.
Currently under construction in France, the ship is scheduled to debut on Mediterranean sailings beginning Dec. 4, 2026. It will operate 7-night itineraries calling on Barcelona, Marseille, Messina, Naples, and Valletta.
At the center of the ship’s family-focused design is The Harbour, an open-air district created as a social and recreational hub. Within it, the Tree of Life serves as a landmark gathering point, surrounded by spaces for dining, relaxation and family activities.
Slide Spans 12 Decks on New MSC World Asia
From this central feature, an elevated walkway leads guests to The Spiral @ Tree of Life, a 266-foot dry slide that spans 12 decks. Designed as both a transport experience and an attraction, it connects The Harbour to the World Promenade, a key area for ocean views, dining and entertainment.
In the evenings, the Tree of Life becomes a focal point for onboard programming, enhanced with integrated lighting, music and activations that create a dynamic atmosphere for guests of all ages. The structure itself stands 32 feet tall and is fitted with more than 492 feet of LED lighting, allowing its appearance and ambiance to shift throughout the day and night.
The design draws inspiration from contemporary Asian cities and the Supertrees of Singapore’s Marina Bay, reinforcing the ship’s broader Asia-influenced design language.
MSC World Asia, the third vessel in MSC Cruises’ World Class series, reflects the brand’s continued focus on large-scale, resort-style cruising, combining European design principles with global cultural influences and a wide range of dining, entertainment and family offerings.
