Emerald Cruises & Tours is preparing to expand its European river cruise offerings with the launch of Emerald Lumi, a new river cruise ship designed specifically to sail the Seine River beginning in 2027.
The ship recently reached a construction milestone with its ceremonial launch at the shipyard in Romania, marking the next step toward its inaugural season on the Seine. Emerald Lumi will join the line’s growing fleet with a focus on relaxed luxury, immersive destination experiences and smaller-ship cruising.
New Ship Designed for the Seine
Emerald Lumi has been purpose-built for the Seine River, allowing the ship to navigate directly into the heart of Paris and reach Honfleur. The ship will accommodate up to 130 guests and feature spacious staterooms and suites with all-weather balconies designed to maximize views while sailing in changing conditions.
Onboard amenities will include Reflections Restaurant, Horizon Bar & Lounge, a heated indoor pool that transforms into an evening cinema and self-service laundry facilities—an addition introduced on Emerald’s newest Star-Ships.
New Seine & Normandy Itinerary Launches in 2027
Emerald Lumi will debut its 8-day Sensations of the Seine & Normandy itinerary in March 2027, sailing round-trip from Paris to Honfleur. The itinerary will feature extended time in port, overnight stays and later departures in select destinations.
Included experiences will highlight some of Normandy’s most iconic attractions, including a visit to Giverny following in the footsteps of artist Claude Monet and a full-day exploration of the Normandy D-Day landing beaches, memorials and museums.
Travelers can also choose more active excursions through EmeraldACTIVE programming, including guided e-bike rides, hikes and kayaking, while food-focused experiences include an oyster tasting in Honfleur and a visit to a traditional Normandy cider farm.
Hosted President’s Cruise
Emerald Lumi will also host the brand’s 2027 President’s Cruise, departing Aug. 14, 2027. The annual sailing will feature hosted dinners, exclusive excursions and opportunities for guests to connect with Emerald Cruises leadership. The round-trip Paris itinerary will showcase the Seine’s historic landscapes while offering guests and new travelers a more personalized cruising experience.
