The American Society of Travel Advisors (ASTA) is expanding its 2027 River Cruise Expo, adding more participating cruise lines, increasing ship capacity and introducing new educational opportunities as demand for river cruising continues to grow.
Scheduled for March 10-14, 2027, in Vienna, Austria, the five-day event is expected to be the organization’s largest expo to date. Advisors will have the opportunity to inspect more ships, meet with supplier partners and gain firsthand product knowledge designed to help drive river cruise sales.
Cruise Ships, Keynote Speaker & More
Among the biggest announcements, Celebrity River Cruises will return as title sponsor for a second consecutive year as the brand prepares to launch its inaugural river cruise sailings later in 2027. During the Expo, Celebrity will highlight its upcoming river cruise product through advisor-focused experiences and activations.
ASTA also announced that Captain Sandy Yawn, best known from Below Deck Mediterranean, will headline the event as the keynote speaker. Sponsored by Tauck, Yawn will share leadership lessons drawn from more than three decades in the maritime industry, including how to overcome professional and personal challenges while leading crews at sea.
Largest Expo Yet
The 2027 edition will feature at least 14 river cruise brands and 18 ships.
The expanded lineup will also include first-time participants Century Cruises and Trafalgar River Cruises, broadening the range of products advisors can explore during the event.
Beyond ship inspections, the Expo combines supplier networking, onboard meals, educational sessions, a dedicated trade show and guided sightseeing throughout Vienna. Attendees will also receive updates on product offerings, supplier insights and sales strategies they can apply to better serve clients and grow their river cruise business.
