Abercrombie & Kent (A&K) has announced its acquisition of Copenhagen-based Borealis DMC, expanding its international network of luxury DMCs.
Borealis DMC offers expertise across the Nordic Wilderness and cultural landscape, with coverage throughout Denmark, the Faroe Islands, Finland, Greenland, Iceland, Norway and Sweden. The partnership will strengthen A&K’s access to the region’s most sought-after experiences, from Northern Lights viewing to midnight sun encounters.
“The Nordic region provides access to experiences that epitomize adventure and luxury in their purest forms,” said Rebecca Osman, Chief Destination Officer at Abercrombie & Kent Travel Group, in a press release statement. “This acquisition aligns perfectly with our commitment to unlocking impossible possibilities for both our discerning travelers and our trade partners. The Nordic region has become a guest favorite amongst luxury travelers seeking authentic wilderness experiences.”
Borealis DMC’s expertise at sourcing authentic wilderness immersion experiences, connections with indigenous communities and access to remote locations will complement A&K’s commitment to local expertise and cultural authenticity.
“We’ve partnered with A&K for several years, and this acquisition feels like a natural evolution,” said Marcella Infantino, Founder of Borealis DMC, in a press release statement. “A&K understands what makes the Nordic region special — our relationships with local communities and commitment to authentic wilderness experiences. We’re excited to join a global family that’s leading the way in luxury travel.”
The new acquisition adds to A&K’s strategic expansion with the recent openings of DMCs in Mexico and Indonesia and continued investment across its A&K Sanctuary portfolio.
