This October, Princess Cruises will debut The Voice of the Ocean, an international singing competition aboard the Regal Princess. The competition, based off of the hit reality TV show, “The Voice,” features auditions, mentor rehearsal sessions, the iconic “I Want You” chairs, three charismatic team coaches, and a live finale performance where guests choose the winner.
To enter the competition, vocalists 16 years and older perform for fellow guests and cruise staff during karaoke-style try out sessions. The best soloists, as chosen by the audience, will be assigned to a Princess musical entertainer or vocalist who meets with them and the Princess Band to rehearse a performance.
The live finale show takes place on the last night of participating cruises in the Princess Theater. Each of the three coaches chooses a finalist and the audience votes for the winner. After its inaugural debut aboard Regal Princess, The Voice of the Ocean sets sail on the Royal Princess and the Caribbean Princess November 2015, as well as eight additional ships between January and May 2016.
