Puerto Rico’s iconic La Concha Resort, a mainstay of the swanky Condado district of San Juan, is now a part of Marriott International’s Autograph Collection. This is the first Autograph Collection Resort on the island.

“La Concha Resort has had a long-standing relationship with Marriott, previously forming part of its Renaissance Hotels group for 15 years. Joining Marriott’s Autograph Collection is a huge step forward in La Concha’s legacy as one of Puerto Rico’s premier hotels,” said John Paulson, president of Paulson & Co., in a press statement. “With this partnership, our guests will enjoy new levels of luxury and an enhanced guest experience.” Paulson & Co. owns and operates the hotel.

La Concha Resort is Poised for a Major Upgrade

This Puerto Rican grand dame—originally built in 1958—is one of the island’s crown jewels of tourism and has long been right in the heart of the action. Like most luxury properties in Puerto Rico, your clients will find they are frequented by locals, and if they want to mix and mingle with the “in” crowd, this is where you’ll want them to go. One of its hottest attractions is the Casino del Mar and its new BetMGM Sportsbook—also the first of its kind in Puerto Rico—and the Fifty Eight Club, which has hosted Grammy-winner Bad Bunny several times.

The announcement comes on the heels of another piece of big news: A $45 million investment to renovate its 238 oceanfront suites and add a new five-star spa and renovate the beach club, among other upgrades. The hotel will also boast a high-end sushi restaurant, Tekka Bar, and another trendy eatery is in the works.

La Concha Resort is part of The Condado Collection of hotels owned and operated by Paulson Puerto Rico. The Collection includes the Condado Vanderbilt Hotel and Condado Ocean Club, and the group also owns the Forbes Five-Star St. Regis Hotel and Spa.
