Costa Rica announced that it will begin once again welcoming U.S. travelers, and Marriott International is offering Bonvoy members added bonus points for bookings.
Citizens from the United States alongside those of 44 other countries may now visit the Central American country provided they meet certain criteria, including a negative COVID-19 test result within 48-hours of travel and insurance verification. For the first phase of opening, only residents of six states—New York, New Jersey, New Hampshire, Maine, Vermont, and Connecticut—may visit and must provide a driver’s license for proof of residency. More states are expected to be added in the future.
Marriott International operates several hotels and resorts across Costa Rica ranging from luxurious beachside retreats such as W Costa Rica – Reserva Conchal, The Westin Golf Resort & Spa, Playa Concha, El Mangroove Autograph Collection and Los Suenos Marriott Ocean and Golf Resort to the urban resort property of Costa Rica Marriott Hotel Hacienda Belen as well as several city hotels including Courtyard San Jose Airport Alajuela, Residence Inn San Jose Escazu and Sheraton San Jose Hotel.
All hotels are a part of Marriott International’s acclaimed Bonvoy loyalty program, which is now offering several promotions and implementing the stringent Marriott Commitment to Clean standards. Bonvoy members who book a stay from now through Oct. 18, 2020 and register will receive 2,500 bonus points for their first and second upcoming paid stays, plus a one-time bonus of 5,000 additional points after their third paid stay. There is no limit to the number of bonus points members may earn.
