Turkish Airlines will launch its 11th U.S. gateway in Dallas Fort Worth, Texas, on Friday, Sept. 24, 2021. The airline will service four flights per week (Monday, Wednesday, Friday and Sunday) between Istanbul and Dallas Fort Worth International Airport.
The maiden flight, TK191, is anticipated to take off from Istanbul Airport (IST) on Sept. 24, 2021 at 2:10 p.m. local time and arrive to Dallas Fort Worth International Airport (DFW) at 6:55 p.m. local time. The first Turkish Airlines flight to depart from Dallas Fort Worth International Airport (DFW), flight TK192, will depart that evening at 8:25 p.m. and arrive to Istanbul Airport (IST) on Sept. 25, 2021 at 3:50 p.m. local time.
“DFW Airport is committed to connecting its customers to destinations all across the world. Welcoming Turkish Airlines as our newest international partner underscores that commitment. This new flight enables DFW customers to travel directly to Istanbul and then directly to destinations across five continents,” says Sean Donohue, chief executive office, Dallas Fort Worth International Airport, in a press statement.
With its hub at the new Istanbul Airport, scheduled to be the world’s largest upon completion, Turkish Airlines flies to 326 destinations in 127 countries spanning five continents, and is strategically positioned to connect to more than 60 destinations within a 3-hour flight from the Istanbul gateway. The Dallas Fort Worth, Texas gateway will be the airline’s 327th destination and joins as the second Turkish Airlines gateway in the Lone Star State, following Houston, Texas.
“With the opening of our 11th U.S. gateway, we look forward to welcoming travelers aboard this new route to experience our world-class service, award-winning cuisine and world-famous Turkish hospitality,” says , Turkish Airlines’ chairman of the Board and the executive committee, M. İlker Aycı, in a press statement. “We continue to make health and safety a top priority for our passengers and employees and maintain a strong commitment to keeping the world connected through our expanded North American presence.”
While new flight routes and onboard services are being re-instated, health and safety continues to be the airline’s priority. Turkish Airlines was awarded the highest “Diamond” level status by APEX (Airline Passenger Experience Association) Health Safety, powered by SimpliFlying, for the airline’s continued efforts in ensuring the highest standards of cleanliness and sanitation, which was deemed by less than 10 airlines. In June 2020, Turkish Airlines announced “Guidelines for Safe Travel,” as well as two new in-flight health protocols: “Hygiene Kits” containing a face mask, disinfectant and antiseptic tissue, as well as “Hygiene Expert” cabin crews appointed to flights to enforce all on-board hygiene and social distancing measures.
Premium onboard dining, including hot meals and beverage services, which were previously restricted due to the pandemic, has resumed for all Business and Economy Class flights longer than two hours and 15 minutes. Versace amenity kits and active noise canceling Denon headphones are also available for international Business Class flights.
