Virgin Voyages’ Scarlet Lady, recognized on Condé Nast Traveler’s 2024 Gold List, is set to undergo a series of cosmetic upgrades during a scheduled dry dock from Nov. 14-28. This enhancement comes after the ship’s inaugural seasons at sea, ensuring it continues to meet the high expectations of its guests.
“Since her much-anticipated debut in 2021, Scarlet Lady has sailed the world, welcoming hundreds of thousands of Sailors on-board while delivering irresistible vacations,” said Nicole Huang, VP of Fleet Experience, in a press statement. “We’re listening and giving travelers more of what they’ve asked for—this includes more suites, luxe new cabanas and fresh, vibey dining concepts—so sailors can truly live the life of a rockstar.”
Scarlet Lady Shines
Scarlet Lady will retain its signature experiences, including Scarlet Night and “epicurious” offerings while reimagining some of its dining venues. The popular eatery Razzle Dazzle, known for its vegetarian-friendly brunch, will unveil a new evening concept that enhances the ambiance. Following the success of the Asian Night Market, “Lucky Lotus by Razzle Dazzle” will feature a bold, Chinese-inspired menu complemented by craft cocktails. The redesigned space will replace communal tables with intimate booths, providing an elevated dining experience at sea.
Several Sea Terrace cabins on Deck 11 are being converted to create 24 “Seriously Suite” RockStar Quarters. The most popular among the suite categories, Virgin Voyages’ Seriously Suites measure 352 sq. ft. with a European king bed, Peek-a-Boo shower, a vanity, in-room records and vinyls, a stocked bar and the brand’s trademark hammock.
The enhancements extend beyond Scarlet Lady’s interiors. On deck, VIP cabanas adorned with breezy white curtains and luxurious daybeds overlooking the Aquatic Club will provide a prime viewing spot for guests wishing to relax or socialize. The six available cabanas can be reserved individually or combined for larger group celebrations.
Ground Club Too, the popular coffee bar located in The Galley—Virgin Voyages’ modern food hall—will continue serving coffee but by night, it will transform into a full-service bar featuring an intimate lounge atmosphere. At The Wake, a Roman and Williams-designed steak and seafood restaurant, the raw bar will be readapted to display the eatery’s impressive collection of high-end wines. The ship’s non-smoking casino will expand, adding additional slot machines along with exclusive spaces for the world’s most competitive players.
Once the renovations are complete, Scarlet Lady will embark on a 16-night transatlantic journey from Rome to Miami, followed by a series of longer Caribbean voyages. The 6-night Western Caribbean Charm and 8-night Eastern Caribbean Antilles itineraries will visit St. Croix, Costa Maya, Roatan, San Juan, Puerto Plata and Bimini.
Each voyage aboard the refreshed Scarlet Lady will include a stop at Virgin Voyages’ Beach Club in the Bahamas.
