Fairmont Hotels & Resorts, in partnership with Long Beach-based Pacific6, has officially unveiled the Fairmont Breakers Long Beach after a multi-million-dollar transformation that blends historic grandeur with modern sophistication.
Nestled in the heart of downtown Long Beach, just 25 miles south of Los Angeles, this newly reimagined property, originally built in 1926, now offers 185 guestrooms and 22 suites. Fairmont Breakers Long Beach preserves the building’s original 1920s architecture. The restoration pays homage to the hotel’s legacy with carefully preserved features, including the original lobby mailbox and nods to its star-studded history, where A-listers like Elizabeth Taylor, Cary Grant and Clark Gable once stayed.

The Birdsall, Auberge Resorts Collection
Auberge Resorts Collection is managing The Birdsall, Auberge Resorts Collection, which is set to open in 2027 in the heart of Houston’s prestigious River Oaks neighborhood.
The Birdsall will feature 105 guestrooms, 44 private residences and an exclusive members’ club—all designed to amplify River Oaks’ storied heritage while infusing contemporary elegance. The development is located within The RO, a 17-acre urban village offering a dynamic social environment with world-class dining, retail and creative office spaces.
The Birdsall’s name pays homage to renowned Houston architect Birdsall Briscoe, who designed many of River Oaks’ iconic homes. Designed by Kohn Pedersen Fox (KPF), the project will incorporate interiors by the award-winning Roman and Williams for the hotel and Dillon Kyle Architects for the residences. The Birdsall will occupy a 34-story building, with the hotel comprising the lower floors and 44 private residences perched at the top.
The 105 guestrooms will feature a range of accommodations, from 413-square-foot Studio Rooms to an expansive Presidential Suite spanning 2,548 square feet. The 44 private residences will offer 2- to 4-bedroom layouts, each with living spaces and panoramic views of the city’s skyline. Residences will also include private elevator access and amenities including a covered swimming pool, wellness and fitness spaces and dedicated recreation and pet areas.
The property will also include The Spa, offering an extensive selection of treatments within 11 treatment rooms, as well as a Vitality Pool, cold plunge pool and relaxation lounges. The Birdsall will offer guests access to the neighborhood’s retail, dining and cultural experiences.
