Nestled in the heart of Banff National Park overlooking the iconic Lake Louise, and surrounded by the spectacular Canadian Rocky Mountains, Fairmont Chateau Lake Louise has been offering all-inclusive wellness retreats since 2011. Getting there, the 2-hour scenic drive from the Calgary International Airport along the Trans-Canada Highway traces a major river and passes iconic mountains and wildlife crossings. Facilities include an indoor swimming pool, a full-service day spa, a health club, several restaurants and a culinary team that places priority of health and well-being. Specialized diets and food sensitivities are accommodated and ingredients are sourced mindfully. The resort also hosts corporate events and weddings.

Point(s) of Distinction
Truly one of the most iconic hotel settings in the world, Fairmont Chateau Lake Louise is situated on the shores of famous Lake Louise, surrounded by miles of protected pine forest and dramatic mountain peaks. The property is also a part of the Canadian Rocky Mountain Parks system, which has been recognized as a UNESCO World Heritage Site and is one of the earth’s great wild places.

Guests from all over the world travel to Lake Louise to experience nature’s calming and mind-quieting effects that encourage healing and transformation. The property was originally built as a base for outdoor enthusiasts and alpinists over 100 years ago. It offers endless outdoor recreational activities including hiking and canoeing in the summer and world-class skiing in the winter. Visitors are able to experience the nature-focused serenity of the place from dawn to dusk year-round.

What types of clients do you typically cater to? Weekend retreats are popular for girlfriend getaways (ages 30-65) and with couples looking to spend quiet, quality time together in nature.

Three- to 4-night retreats starting on Sunday night attract primarily solo female travelers (ages 30-65) looking for an intensive reboot of their lives.

What client goals might be achieved by selecting this property? Retreats at Fairmont Chateau Lake Louise cover a variety of topics, but they all have a core theme of “resetting” in order to move forward and live one’s best life. We choose facilitators that are experts in yoga, mindfulness, meditation, creative writing, self-love authors, physicians, phycologists, etc. that offer our guests the practical tools needed to continue working on their goals at home.

Types of Programs—Duration and Cost
Centered around providing a peaceful, nature-inspired environment for each guest to rejuvenate the spirit and strengthen the soul, Fairmont Chateau Lake Louise offers 2- to 4-night, all-inclusive wellness retreats based on a variety of topics including yoga, mindfulness, meditation, creative writing, self-love and others.

Ranging from $302 to $415 pp, per night, retreats include yoga, daily sessions with world-renowned facilitators, all meals, luxury accommodations (with lake-view room upgrades available for early bookers), and daily free time to explore all that Lake Louise has to offer. Depending on the time of year, free time activities can include hiking, canoeing, ice skating, snowshoeing, and cross-country skiing, as well as the guided Mountain Adventure Program, plus time for journaling or to visit the spa.

Can programs be customized to suit client’s needs? Programs at Fairmont Chateau Lake Louise are set and individuals book the program and itinerary. They do, however, offer pre- and post-discounts on hotel rooms so that guests can extend their stay to enjoy more of the area, and there is plenty of free time each day so that everyone can experience what they are looking for outside of the scheduled retreat sessions.

Best time to travel? Retreats are offered in February, March, April, October and November; these months allow guests more time to explore Banff National Park when it is less busy. With the silence of snow, towering trees and rock formations all around, retreating to the mountains and letting the energy of nature seep into your soul can be a magical experience.
