MSC Cruises Brings ROBOTRON to Texas This Fall

This November, MSC Cruises is making a splash in Texas with the arrival of MSC Seascape, bringing with it the jaw-dropping ROBOTRON—a state-of-the-art robotic thrill ride making its Texas debut. For the first time, Lone Star State cruisers will get a taste of one of the most talked-about attractions at sea.

ROBOTRON, a robotic arm ride suspended nearly 175 feet above the ocean, offers a fully immersive, customizable rollercoaster-style adventure. The ride’s three-seat gondola flips, spins and swoops above the ship’s deck, treating guests to panoramic sea views—all choreographed to their personal music selection and enhanced with lights and visuals.

ROBOTRON is a thrill ride like no other, and we know it’ll make waves in Texas. On board MSC Seascape, guests will find that ROBOTRON is a one-of-a-kind experience that combines cutting-edge technology with breathtaking ocean views. Texans love big adventures, and MSC Seascape delivers—with high-tech entertainment, immersive attractions and unforgettable Caribbean cruises,” said Lynn Torrent, President, MSC Cruises North America, in a press statement.

On the ROBOTRON, guests can choose their thrill level, from family-friendly to high-intensity, and personalize the ride by choosing their own music, lighting and visual effects. The ride pulses and twists in sync with the beat, creating a multisensory experience unlike anything else at sea.

In addition to ROBOTRON, MSC Seascape offers a suite of next-generation entertainment options:

  • VR 360° Flight Simulator: This ride offers a virtual motion experience, complete with VR headsets and special effects. Guests can also choose from various worlds to explore.
  • VR Motorcycles: Guests with a need for speed will love MSC Seascape’s VR motorcycles, where players will be transported to the racetrack with wind and water effects to complete the experience.
  • MSC Formula Racer: This car racing activity puts guests in the driver’s seat for a racing simulation game with realistic effects that will get their heart rates going.
  • Immersive XD Cinema: The minute guests put on their 3D glasses, they dive into alternate worlds where players will battle it out against zombies, skeletons and more. Only one player can be crowned the victor, so guests will need to prove their sharp-shooting skills against each other for ultimate bragging rights.

MSC Seascape will begin sailing from Galveston on Nov. 9, departing from a new state-of-the-art terminal currently under construction at the Port of Galveston. The ship will offer 7-night Western Caribbean itineraries departing Galveston every Sunday, visiting Costa Maya and Cozumel, Mexico, and Isla de Roatan, Honduras.
