MSC Cruises has signed a new order with Chantiers de l’Atlantique for two additional World Class ships, expanding the series to six vessels—four of which are already delivered or under construction.
The two new orders—currently referred to as World Class 5 and 6—will be delivered in 2029 and 2030, respectively.
World Class 5 and 6 will join MSC World Europa and MSC World America, along with MSC World Asia and MSC World Atlantic, which are currently under construction and will enter service in 2026 and 2027, respectively.
MSC World America entered service in April, offering sailings from PortMiami via its dedicated terminal.
MSC World Atlantic will offer cruises from Port Canaveral upon joining the fleet in 2027.
New Entertainment On Board MSC World America
MSC World America has debuted two new original entertainment productions, further expanding its entertainment lineup that includes the first-ever at-sea Dirty Dancing in Concert.
The productions will be offered in the World Theatre venue and include:
- Odyssey – Produced by Anystage Creative, Odyssey is an acrobatic production inspired by Homer’s Odyssey, set in a surreal, dreamlike world. The show combines narrative elements with physical performance and visual effects.
- Momentous – This large-scale illusion show was developed in collaboration with Twins FX, a company known for its special effects work on productions such as Back to the Future: The Musical and various Disney and BBC projects. Featuring a resident guest artist, the show incorporates advanced stage effects and illusions designed specifically for the cruise ship environment.
MSC World America will spend her inaugural season sailing from PortMiami, offering alternating 7-night Eastern and Western Caribbean itineraries with stops in Puerto Plata, Dominican Republic; San Juan, Puerto Rico; Costa Maya and Cozumel, Mexico; and Isla de Roatan, Honduras. All sailings include a visit to Ocean Cay.
