Land Packages, At No Added Cost
For select European sailings in 2025 and 2026, guests can choose from a variety of 2-, 3- or 4-night land packages at no additional cost. These packages, which are available on more than 69 itineraries across over 230 departures in 2025, allow guests to explore the iconic cities and picturesque regions surrounding their river cruise ports of embarkation or disembarkation.
Guests who are unable to extend their vacation with a land package can still take advantage of AmaWaterways’ offer with discounts on staterooms—depending on the itinerary and departure date. These special offers are available for bookings made between Jan. 1 and March 31, 2025.
The complimentary land packages are available on more than 20 different itineraries. For even greater value, AmaWaterways’ WAVE Season offer is combinable with the cruise line’s AirPlus program, which provides fixed-price airfare from all major U.S. gateways.
During the land package portion of their journey, travelers will stay in world-class 4- and 5-star hotels, offering easy access to local attractions, shopping and dining. Every AmaWaterways land package includes daily breakfast, city tours and excursions.
Guests will also enjoy the convenience of transfers and luggage services between their hotel and river cruise ship. Throughout the journey, an AmaWaterways Cruise Manager will accompany guests, ensuring a seamless and personalized experience on both land and river.
The list of pre- and post-cruise destinations includes:
- Brittany, France—available on Impressions of the Seine & Paris itinerary. Guests can explore the seaside resort town of Dinard on France’s Emerald Coast. Tours bring guests to the walled city of Saint-Malo and the island monastery of Mont St. Michel.
- Lisbon, Portugal—available on Enticing Douro and Flavors of Portugal & Spain itineraries. AmaWaterways guests kick off their 3-day pre-cruise with a tour of the “City of Seven Hills”, followed by tastings of typical Portuguese pastry. Before heading to the ship in Porto, guests tour Serra de Sintra and the nearby 16th-century fairytale castle of Pena Palace.
- Prague, Czech Republic—available on several Danube, Main and Moselle itineraries. Guests can start the 3-night pre- or post-cruise adventure with a tour of the city or do a castle hike.
