Today, Emirates arrived at Miami International Airport through a water cannon salute, with its inaugural flight from Dubai.

The new four-times-a-week service today began today when the inaugural flight touched down in Miami at 11:00 AM local time.

“We are thrilled to start our long-anticipated service between Dubai and Miami for travelers,” said Essa Sulaiman Ahmed, Emirates’ divisional vice president, USA and Canada. “We expect that the service will be popular with our customers who are seeking new experiences as countries like the UAE and U.S. advance their vaccination drives and the world safely opens up for international travel.”

Along with its current service to Orlando, Emirates’ new service to Miami provides an additional access point to and from Florida and expanding Emirates’ U.S. network to 12 destinations on over 70 weekly flights.

“We are honored to have the only nonstop service to Dubai from South Florida,” said Miami-Dade Mayor Daniella Levine Cava.

“Emirates is providing convenient connections from across our global network to Southern Florida, and in the other direction we are linking travelers from South American and the Caribbean to over 50 points across the Middle East, West Asia, Africa, and the Indian Ocean Islands through our hub in Dubai,” said Ahmed. “Miami is a destination we have wanted to sell for many years. It’s an exciting tourism destination and a global trade and transportation hub that is an economic engine for the state of Florida and surrounding regions. It’s a popular destination for business and leisure travelers around the world and we look forward to growing significantly and attracting new visitors here as the world safely reopens for international travel.

“Like Miami, Dubai has become a global popular destination for visitors with many attractive offerings including world-class shopping and hotels, beaches, and iconic landmarks,” added Ahmed. “Thanks to this new route, more people will be able to experience everything that Miami and Dubai have to offer. And, on Emirates’ Boeing 777, we believe that the onboard experience will be as exciting as the destinations they’re traveling to.

Emirates’ Boeing 777 Game Changer features eight fully enclosed private suites in First Class, which says Ahmed, “takes first class to a new level of privacy,” said Ahmed. In addition, the aircraft offers 42 lie flat seats in Business Class and 304 spacious seats in Economy.

“There’s no doubt that we’re going through one of the toughest periods in aviation, but today’s event is a testament to the power of partnerships in our recovery,” said Ahmed.

“Over the last 16 months, we have had great growth at Miami International Airport, our tourism industry is making a robust recovery from the pandemic,” said Levine Cava. “This launch symbolizes that we can and we will rebound stronger than ever.”
