Ahead of increased travel tied to the FIFA World Cup, Avianca has launched seasonal nonstop service between Guatemala City and San Francisco. The route will operate through Aug. 31, 2026.

Avianca will operate the service with an Airbus A320 aircraft, offering four weekly frequencies—Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday—and more than 1,400 seats per week.

“At Avianca, we continue strengthening our network to offer more connectivity options to our customers and enable more travelers to fly to the United States for the World Cup festivities,” said Rolando Damas, Avianca’s Sales Director for North America, in a media statement. “This new seasonal direct route between Guatemala City and San Francisco will further enhance our U.S. offering, which today includes more than 400 weekly flights and 14 destinations in operation.”

The flights will arrive in San Francisco from Guatemala at 6:25 AM, departing San Francisco at 7:45 AM.
