The Other House is opening its first outpost of Residents’ Clubs this Spring, with The Other House South Kensington. A totally new hospitality concept in the heart of South Kensington, The Other House is a blend of the hotel, private members club and private residences, where guests can stay for few nights or a few years. Designed to be a second home for residents or their “Other House” as long as guests are in town—whether a day, a month or a year—this concept has been created by Naomi Heaton, who really considered how the 2022 individual lives and travels. The Other House brings together contemporary design, wellbeing concepts, an all-day street cafe and a members club, to create a new lifestyle destination in London.
For the accommodation, “Club Flats” offer fully fitted contemporary apartments each with kitchenettes and living areas, ideal for both long and short stay travelers. These home comforts of apartment-style living are complemented by hotel services. This new concept is paving the way for a new era of slow travel, providing guests’ with their “other house” for as long as they are in town.
Club Flats are available from studio-style accommodation to 3-bedrooms, ranging from 258 sq.-ft. to 581sq.-ft. For families or groups wishing to stay together, there are connecting rooms and options to link additional Club Flats in a cluster of two, three or four behind a single front door or surrounding a private internal courtyard—going up to 1,238 sq.-ft., excluding the courtyard. Long stay residents can also check out when they are away on holiday or business and have their club flat relet, saving on unnecessary expense when they are out of London.
For a local vibe, there are public spaces including a destination bar and the all-day street cafe, The Other Kitchen and wellness area, which will include a vitality pool, steam room, sauna, a yoga studio, audio sensory experiences and state-of-the-art gym, as well as Wellbeing Guides.
Guests also have 24-hour service available at The Residents Club and the entire property is tech enabled. The Other House app will enable guests to manage their entire stay and experience from booking, checking in, room entry, room cleaning, laundry, messaging, booking and paying at any of the restaurants, bars and other amenities—a UK first for travel.
The highly anticipated opening of The Other House, will take place in June 2022 in South Kensington, shortly followed by a Covent Garden property. The team has big ambitions for numerous other properties in London, across European cities and beyond.
