June marks Pride Month, and for those clients looking for LGBTQ-friendly resorts when booking their next getaway or how to take in this month’s festivities, we have a few recommendations. Plus, a few experiences available beyond this month.

In Florida, there are many Pride celebrations taking place—from Miami Beach to Orlando and Key West.

Miami Beach is hosting events during the month of June such as a Pride Bar Crawl taking place on June 16 at top gay bars on South Beach including Bar Gathering, Axel Beach, Nathan’s Bar, PALACE, and Twist, and it will once again be hosting the Miami Beach Gay Pride Parade and Festival on Sept. 10-19, 2021. The event will feature the Miss Miami Beach Pride Drag Queen Competition, Queer Art Pop-up Showcase, Pride Lights the Night, and more. Travelers heading to Miami in September for the Pride parade should check out Hotel Gaythering, an adults-only, boutique hotel that caters exclusively to gay guests who want to experience Miami Beach. Orlando, which is the first-ever recognized “City of the Year” by, will celebrate Pride Month with an array of events.

“We know LGBTQ+ visitors have a strong desire to travel to a destination with special events, nightlife and activities that promote inclusivity,” said Casandra Matej, president and CEO of Visit Orlando, in a press statement. “Visit Orlando has been a proud and active supporter of the LGBTQ+ community and LGBTQ+ travelers over the years and this year is especially significant as we commemorate an important milestone and celebrate the community’s resiliency.”

In addition, the city will be hosting a Five-Year Pulse Remembrance Week from June 5-13 for the 49 victims of the Pulse nightclub shooting that took place on June 12, 2016. The Five Years After the Pulse Tragedy Exhibit will take place June 5-13 at the Orange County Regional History Center in Downtown Orlando, which will examine how communities, both locally and across the globe, were touched by the tragedy of the Pulse nightclub shooting.
