The Newport Marriott hotel is undergoing a $35 million renovation with an expected completion by spring 2015.
The property will add a new restaurant offering a dock-to-table local seafood menu and two bars with panoramic Harbor views serving tapas-style small plates. The 312 guestrooms and eight suites will feature a backlit sail stretching the length of the headboard wall, and furnishings will resemble a fine yacht. The renovated property will also feature a 4,500-sq.-ft. Spa at Newport Marriott, which opened in 2009, offering eight treatment rooms, a relaxation lounge, and a hair and nail salon, plus a 10,000-sq.-ft. heath club with an indoor saline pool, sauna, whirlpool, racquetball courts, plus a fitness room and a roof deck.
