Impression Isla Mujeres, a 123-suite resort on the southern tip of Isla Mujeres, Mexico, has joined The Unbound Collection by Hyatt and will keep operating as an adults-only, all-inclusive property under the new affiliation.
Hyatt’s Boutique Vacay
Located at Punta Sur, off the coast of Cancun, the resort is surrounded by white-sand beaches and Caribbean water and lies near a historic sanctuary associated with the Maya goddess Ixchel.
“Isla Mujeres, the ‘Island of Women,’ has long been associated with Ixchel, the Maya goddess of fertility, healing and the moon,” said Tamara Lohan, Global Brand Leader – Luxury, Hyatt, in a press statement. “That, together with the island’s landscape graceful integration into the property, makes it the perfect setting for couples seeking a romantic stay. As we celebrate 10 years of The Unbound Collection by Hyatt, I’m thrilled to welcome a resort that captures that spirit of individuality so beautifully and to introduce more guests to this very special corner of Mexico.”
The resort’s guest offerings remain the same. The resort, which opened in 2023 under the Impression by Secrets brand, keeps its established services, amenities and experiences, along with Endless Privileges, one of Hyatt’s signature sets of luxury inclusions offered at select all-inclusive resorts.
Its sheltered setting is seldom affected by sargassum, keeping the beaches a draw in every season. Every suite has a private terrace, many with views of the Caribbean Sea or the coastline, and guests can use infinity pools and private Mayan soaking tubs. Recent upgrades to the wellbeing spaces added yoga hammocks, wellness cabanas and TRX equipment.
Seven restaurants serve Mexican, Italian, Mediterranean and pan-Asian menus plus grilled dishes, with a la carte choices from teppanyaki and wood-fired pizza to tacos, steak and fresh seafood. Five bars and lounges cover the day, from morning coffee and swim-up drinks to rooftop cocktails.
The resort also directs a portion of room revenue to the nonprofit Saving Our Sharks Foundation and has hosted guest snorkeling and shark-tagging excursions since opening. The partnership supports local fishing communities and alternative livelihoods for fishers moving away from shark fishing.
Established in 2016, the collection groups independent hotels and resorts chosen for distinctive character, and the addition comes as it marks its 10th anniversary. Casa Duhau in Mendoza, Argentina, is expected to join in late 2027.
Why It Matters
Milestone trips are setting the pace in luxury for next year. Virtuoso’s 2027 Luxe Report ranks celebrating a milestone as the top reason affluent clients are traveling in 2027, with honeymoons at No. 6, and it places both celebration travel and fully inclusive resort or cruise experiences among the top five ultraluxe travel experiences. For advisors, that points to couples planning anniversaries, honeymoons and other milestone trips who want a high-end stay with everything included.
