By now you probably know that LeBron James is joining the Lakers. While the celebrity basketball player has called both Miami and Cleveland home, Brentwood has been the off-season home for the James family for a couple of years. For basketball fans, and those interested in travel to California, here’s how they can explore LeBron’s Brentwood.

Brentwood has a lot to offer such as culinary experiences, an easily walkable neighborhood, and many fitness adventures for those travelers who would like to stay active during their stay. To celebrate LeBron with the Lakers, few L.A. hotels are offering themed packages that include items such as a basketball to go shoot hoops and premium tickets to watch LeBron in action. Here’s how your clients can experience LeBron’s neighborhood now that opening season is about to open.

Celebrity Culture
Brentwood is home to stunning 20th century architecture including the mid-century Nesbitt House, which was built for radio personality John Nesbitt in 1942, as well as the famous architect Frank Lloyd Wright’s George Sturges House, which was completed in 1939 and is a designated Los Angeles Historic-Cultural Monument in 1993. A stop at The Getty Center is a also must-do, as this 24-acre hilltop campus for arts and culture showcases an extensive collection of European, American, and Asian works.

Stay Fit
For those clients who want to stay active during their stay, suggest a nearby hike at Mandeville Canyon, Sullivan Canyon Trail, and Westridge-Canyonback Wilderness Park. For a more leisurely outdoor experience, take a stroll along the grassy median of San Vicente Boulevard, which is also one of the most popular running paths in the area, and take in the surrounding neighborhood. This path heads west for four miles through the community before it ends at Ocean Avenue.

Culinary Experiences
Brentwood is a dining hub where foodies will find lots of innovative cuisine. Some of the places your clients should get reservations to are restaurants such as Beltaire Restaurant, an elegant steakhouse; Takao, an upscale, Omakase style sushi spot; and Tavern, the new American restaurant by Suzzane Goin and the 2018 James Beard finalist Caroline Styne. For an easy grab-and-go option, check out the Neapolitan pizzeria Pizzana, which opened in fall 2017, and was a favorite of the late Pulitzer Prize winning Los Angeles Times food critic, Jonathan Gold.

Celebrity Spotting
LeBron James isn’t the only celeb to call Brentwood home. Celebrities have gravitated to this area for decades including legends such as Bette Davis, Steve McQueen, Shirley Temple and Marilyn Monroe. Today, visitors can run into celebrities while exploring any of the activities we’ve mentioned. Currently celebrity locals include Steven Spielberg, Gwyneth Paltrow, Heidi Klum and Harrison Ford.
