Months after the 2017 hurricane season devastated several countries in the Caribbean, ID Travel Group and its nonprofit foundation are continuing to help with the relief efforts by raising funds and offering special perks to encourage travel to the region.
Now, when agents book their clients at select resorts in the Caribbean and Mexico—a country also recently struck with natural disasters—they’ll receive instant air credit. The $250 instant air credit will be awarded per accommodation on stays of five nights or more, while those staying for a minimum of seven nights will receive $500 in instant air credit.
In addition to these efforts to increase travel to the Caribbean and Mexico, the ID Travel Group Foundation for Better Living has also committed to raising funds for the islands severely impacted by the hurricanes. Since September 2017, the foundation has fully matched every donation made up to $500 and donated 100 percent of the proceeds—about $100,000 to date—for relief items. Maurice Bonham-Carter, ID Travel Group president and CEO and founder of the nonprofit foundation, also traveled to Anguilla to deliver more than 1,000 pounds of relief items.
