Carnival Cruise Line will move its drink and internet packages to dynamic pricing on Dec. 1, 2026, so what a client pays for either will depend on the cruise booked. Rates change based on how long the sailing is, where it goes and when it departs.
Carnival’s drink programs range from Bottomless Bubbles, its unlimited soda and juice package, to CHEERS! Zero Proof for non-alcoholic drinks and CHEERS!, which includes up to 15 alcoholic drinks a day. Its three Wi-Fi tiers are Social, for messaging and social media apps; Value, which adds email and browsing; and Premium, which supports streaming and video calls.
Carnival Replaces Value Packages
Ahead of the switch, Carnival is selling FunPacks, which replace its earlier Value packages and combine a drink package and a Wi-Fi plan with other extras at a fixed per-day price. Guests can buy one only from Oct. 13 to Oct. 30, 2026, in My Cruise Manager on the brand’s website, for cruises leaving between Oct. 31, 2026, and Dec. 31, 2027. Based on a 6-day cruise, the bundles cost 35-55 percent less than buying each item separately.
“We’re excited to launch FunPacks, our largest collection of packages to date, making it easier for guests to bundle the experiences they enjoy the most and save money,” said Christine Duffy, president of Carnival Cruise Line, in a press statement.
Prices run from $25 a day for the Kidstarter FunPack, for ages 3 to 17, to $50 for the Zero Proof FunPack, $60 for the Social FunPack and $99 for the Epic FunPack, the last two limited to guests 21 and older. The Social tier introduces CHEERS! Social, sold only within that bundle, with unlimited non-alcoholic drinks and three alcoholic drinks daily. The higher tiers also add specialty dining, shore excursions and discounts on spa and Dreams Studio purchases.
Each FunPack must cover every day of the cruise, cannot be bought onboard and must match among all guests 21 and older in a stateroom when one of them chooses the Social or Epic tier. Guests who skip the bundles can still buy drink and Wi-Fi packages individually, at the new variable rates once they take effect.
Why It Matters
Under dynamic pricing, conditions set the price at the time rather than fixing it in advance, so the same drink or Wi-Fi package could cost one amount on a 3-night sailing and another on a weeklong peak-season itinerary. Carnival has not published price ranges for the new model. For now, the website lists CHEERS! at $69.95 per person, per day when bought before sailing, compared with $74.95 onboard, and pre-cruise Wi-Fi plans from $20.40 to $25.50 a day. Once the change takes effect, what clients spent on extras on their last Carnival cruise will no longer be a dependable guide to the next one. Advisors can price drink and Wi-Fi packages for each specific sailing when quoting, show clients booked through 2027 the fixed FunPack rates before that window closes and recheck package prices just before clients buy, since Carnival notes its prices can change without notice.
