This March, Universal Orlando Resort is taking the magic of The Wizarding World of Harry Potter to an entirely new level with the launch of Second Generation Interactive Wands—introducing cutting-edge light and haptic effects for a more immersive spellcasting experience.
For your biggest Potter-fan clients, they can personalize their wizarding journey with interactive features in the Universal Orlando Resort App and explore brand-new spell locations across Hogsmeade, Diagon Alley and the highly anticipated The Wizarding World of Harry Potter – Ministry of Magic at Universal Epic Universe when it debuts later this year.
Gryffindor or Slytherin?
The all-new interactive wands will be available for purchase starting March 1 at Ollivanders Wand Shop and other retail locations throughout Universal Orlando Resort. Universal’s interactive wands will include illumination effects and haptic feedback that let guests see and feel the magic of their spellcasting.
Available in four exclusive designs, each wand comes packaged in a collector’s box featuring a special wand burst icon and includes a detailed spell map to help Potter fans navigate over 30 interactive spell locations throughout the parks. For an even more interactive adventure, guests can connect their wand to Universal Play in the Universal Orlando Resort App, unlocking features such as:
- Custom Wizard Profiles – Choose a wizard name, Hogwarts house, patrons and avatar, all of which influence spellcasting effects.
- House Points & Leaderboard – Earn points for your house, track your Wizarding Level, and compete against fellow witches and wizards.
- Exclusive Spell Challenges – Complete wizarding adventures to unlock new spells and master the art of magic.
- New Spell Locations in Hogsmeade & Diagon Alley
Universal Orlando is also expanding its spellcasting locations, adding five new interactive experiences across The Wizarding World of Harry Potter, including:
- The Duelling Club Tent (Hogsmeade) – Bring a dueling dummy to life and test your spellcasting skills.
- The Owl Post (Hogsmeade) – Stop mischievous pixies from wreaking havoc.
- Knockturn Alley Staircase (Diagon Alley) – Conjure a patronus to defend against a Dementor lurking in the shadows.
- Ariadne’s Spinners (Diagon Alley) – Use magic to fend off a swarm of invading spiders.
- Knockturn Alley Sky (Diagon Alley) – Control a magical storm—or cast a counter-spell to clear the skies.
When Epic Universe opens, The Wizarding World of Harry Potter – Ministry of Magic will feature 14 spellcasting locations, allowing guests to embark on quests, interact with magical creatures like Nifflers and Demiguises and even discover the Philosopher’s Stone.
