Dan Hotels has announced the reopening of its flagship King David Hotel in Jerusalem as tourism reawakens in Israel following a vaccination push.
Over 80 percent of Israelis over the age of 16 have already received at least one COVID-19 vaccination, and signs of tourism growth are favorable, boosted by the coming celebration of both Passover and Easter.
The King David, which is marking its 90th anniversary this year, reopened officially on March 18, but has been sporadically open throughout 2021 to house visiting high-level government delegations. The hotel played host to the Prime Ministers of the Czech Republic, Hungary and Denmark, the Chancellor of Austria, the President of Cyprus, and the United Arab Emirates’ first ambassador to Israel.
The Dan Accadia on the Mediterranean at Herzliya, and the Dan Carmel in Haifa, will also reopen in March. The Dan Tel Aviv formally reopened on Feb. 21, although it has never fully closed, as the hotel continued to host airline crews throughout the pandemic.
The other Dan Hotels — Dan Eilat, the Dan Caesarea and the Ruth Safed reopened on Feb. 25, while the Dan Jerusalem and the Dan Panorama Haifa — are set to open in time for Passover.
