Melia Aligns with Lionel Messi’s MiM Hotels

Melia Hotels International is expanding its portfolio through a new partnership with MiM Hotels, the hospitality brand owned by global football icon Lionel Messi.

“The strength of this alliance lies in the complementarity between the MiM Hotels and The Melia Collection. Both share a common philosophy and a compelling value proposition for the most discerning travelers—driven by the inspiration of a global icon like Leo Messi and the proven expertise of a leading hospitality group like Melia,” said Gabriel Escarrer, Chairman and CEO of Melia Hotels International, in a media statement.

MiM Unites with Melia

The MiM Hotels portfolio features six properties across Spain—Sitges, Sotogrande, Mallorca, Ibiza and Baqueira Beret—as well as one in Andorra. Known for its contemporary design, each hotel embodies Messi’s personal vision of modern luxury. Unique touches such as the exclusive Messi Suite and memorabilia, including a signed Ballon d’Or replica, connect the brand to its founder.

Under a lease agreement, the properties will retain their individual design while benefiting from Melia’s global distribution network, loyalty program and brand standards. The Melia Collection currently includes 26 hotels in more than a dozen countries.

Each MiM property caters to high-end travelers with interiors created by designers Luis Bustamante and Lazaro Rosa-Violan. Select properties feature culinary programs developed by Michelin-starred chef Nandu Jubany, who brings a blend of Mediterranean and Argentine influences to the menus.

Wellness programming is a core component across the portfolio, incorporating hydrotherapy circuits, spa treatments and relaxation areas, along with opportunities for outdoor activities such as golf, skiing and hiking—depending on the destination.
