Sandals Resorts International is rolling out a series of major enhancements across three of its Jamaica properties as part of a $200 million investment aimed at expanding accommodations, elevating dining experiences, and strengthening guests’ connection to the destination.
The upgrades span Sandals Montego Bay, Sandals South Coast and Sandals Royal Caribbean, which will be renamed Sandals Caribbean Cay.
The multi-resort project introduces new suite categories, expanded culinary offerings and redesigned public spaces, while adding experiences designed to highlight Jamaica’s culture, cuisine and natural landscapes.
Sandals Montego Bay Debuts New Dining and Suite Experiences
More than 40 years after opening as the brand’s flagship resort, Sandals Montego Bay is undergoing significant updates that include a redesigned arrival experience, a reimagined main pool and new accommodations overlooking the Caribbean Sea.
Among the most notable additions are Buccan, making its Jamaica waterfront debut, and Scrimshaw, a new seafood restaurant offering panoramic ocean views.
The resort will also continue to showcase long-standing guest favorites, including the Caribbean’s first swim-up bar, while introducing Bay Roc Rum Club, a new venue inspired by the property’s history as Bay Roc Hotel & Villas.
Sandals Caribbean Cay Introduces New Identity
Formerly Sandals Royal Caribbean, Sandals Caribbean Cay will debut with a refreshed identity built around its offshore island setting.
The resort is adding 84 rooms, bringing its inventory to 291 accommodations. New categories include SkyPool Suites, Swim-up Suites and Oceanview Butler Suites.
Dining additions include Suppa, a family-style restaurant serving Jamaican comfort food, and Heart & Sol, a casual outlet featuring juices, sandwiches and lighter fare.
Enhancements also extend to the property’s private island, Sandals Cay, where guests will find a new beach club experience, additional dining options and upgraded leisure facilities.
New Room Categories Arrive at Sandals South Coast
Located within a 500-acre nature preserve, Sandals South Coast is adding new accommodations and dining venues while maintaining its focus on the destination’s natural surroundings.
The resort’s Overwater Butler Villas are receiving refreshed interiors, while the introduction of Beachfront Club Two Queen Junior Suites marks the brand’s first accommodation category designed specifically with groups in mind.
New food-and-beverage offerings include BLŪM, serving Jamaica’s Blue Mountain coffee and pastries, and Butch’s Island Chop House, which will debut on Jamaica’s south coast alongside a dedicated martini bar.
A new rum bar is also planned for the property.
