Remote Polynesia Awaits on PONANT’s Le Jacques Cartier

PONANT EXPLORATIONS GROUP is expanding its footprint in French Polynesia with new winter itineraries aboard Le Jacques Cartier, launching in the 2026–27 season.

These new itineraries complement the Group’s Paul Gauguin Cruises, which has been sailing the islands year-round for more than 26 years. The new itineraries aboard the 88-stateroom and suite, all-private balcony Le Jacques Cartier will include stops in the Gambier and Austral Islands—destinations not currently visited by The Gauguin. The sailings will also cover the Society Islands, Tuamotus and Marquesas.

Secret Polynesia: From the Society to the Austral Islands (Oct. 18 & Dec. 13, 2026), visiting the Tuamotus archipelago, Gambier Islands and the remote Austral archipelago.

From French Polynesia to Pitcairn Island (Nov. 15, 2026), visiting Tuamotu and the Gambier Islands as well as Pitcairn Island.

Polynesian Bliss: Marquesas, Tuamotu and Society Islands (Oct. 4, Nov. 1 & 29, Dec. 27, 2026; Jan. 24, 2027), visiting the Marquesas, Tuamotus and the Society Islands.

While sailing on board Le Jacques Cartier guests will have a daily included activity, with naturalist-led outings and cultural immersions designed in partnership with local communities. The ship’s onboard marina offers direct access to snorkeling, kayaking, paddleboarding, and more, plus scuba diving is also available with a certified instructor on board.
