HX Expeditions has finalized its 2026 Alaska program, unveiling two new Inside Passage itineraries and debut calls to Klawock and Valdez.
Two New Alaska Itineraries for 2026
The new 9-night Alaska’s Inside Passage: Fjords of the Great Land (Vancouver to Whittier) offers a condensed expedition-style immersion through Misty Fjords and Southeast Alaska’s waterways.
HX’s 12-night Alaska’s Inside Passage: Where the Mountains Meet the Sea (Whittier to Vancouver) expands the footprint, exploring Prince William Sound, the Gulf of Alaska and British Columbia.
Both sailings operate aboard MS Roald Amundsen, recognized as the world’s first hybrid, battery-powered cruise ship.
Inaugural Calls: Klawock and Valdez
HX is introducing 11 new shore excursions built around first-time calls to Klawock and Valdez. Klawock, located on Prince of Wales Island, is a newly developed Indigenous-owned cruise port offering an intimate introduction to the Indigenous traditions of Southeast Alaska and its coastal ecosystems.
In Valdez, framed by the Chugach Mountains, guests can kayak among floating ice at Valdez Glacier Lake or explore the region’s gold rush history and environmental recovery story. Featured itineraries include:
- Klawock Highlights: An Indigenous cultural experience featuring master carvers, apprentice artists and Alaska’s largest authentic totem park.
- Coastal Flavors of Klawock: A chef-led tasting of locally sourced oysters, salmon, halibut, roe, kelp and wild berries, paired with wines that reflect the island’s character.
- Valdez Glacier Lake Kayaking: Inflatable kayaking among floating ice while learning about the 1898 gold-rush All-American Route.
- Taste of Valdez: A guided trolley experience featuring fresh-baked scones, craft beer tastings and local culinary stops.
HX also continues its partnership with the National Audubon Society, offering select Audubon Voyages featuring enhanced birdlife programming.
