Holland America Line is adding a splash of color to its onboard offerings with the launch of Blend Bar, the first custom lipstick blending experience at sea. Available now on select ships and expanding fleetwide by mid-November, the interactive experience allows guests to create their own personalized lipstick or gloss.
Currently offered aboard Nieuw Statendam, Eurodam, Westerdam, Oosterdam, Zuiderdam, Volendam and Zaandam, the Blend Bar will be added to the line’s remaining four ships in the coming weeks.
“Today’s travelers are looking for more than just a vacation—they want exclusive experiences like Blend Bar that feel personal, immersive and meaningful,” said Carole Biencourt, Vice President of Onboard Revenue for Holland America Line, in a press statement. “We’re excited to launch the first lipstick blending bar at sea, where our beauty-loving guests can express themselves and create a unique souvenir of their time on board.”
A Custom Creation at Sea
At Blend Bar, guests work with a beauty consultant to mix and match from 30+ premium pigments, four finishes (butter, creme, matte, or gloss), and 20 signature flavors to create their personalized lipstick or gloss. Travelers can match a favorite shade, recreate a discontinued color or design something entirely new.
Once blended, the formula is melted, poured and labeled with a custom name chosen by the guest. Each participant receives their product along with a formula card to replicate their creation in the future.
Prices start at $65 for a custom lipstick or liquid matte, and $60 for a gloss. All ingredients are vegan, cruelty-free and free from parabens, sulfates, phthalates and GMOs, and each pigment is enriched with antioxidants and SPF protection.
