Explora Journeys Officially Names EXPLORA III

Explora Journeys has officially welcomed EXPLORA III to its fleet following a naming ceremony in Barcelona, marking the latest milestone in the luxury ocean travel brand’s expansion.

Delivered in Genoa on July 23, 2026, EXPLORA III arrived in Barcelona after an exclusive Mediterranean Prelude Journey, which welcomed tennis star and Explora Journeys Global Brand Ambassador Jannik Sinner as the ship’s first guest.

“Naming EXPLORA III is a momentous occasion that reflects both the trajectory of our fleet and our steadfast commitment to shaping the future of ultra-elegant ocean travel,” said Anna Nash, President of Explora Journeys, in a press statement.

An Ocean State of Mind

The newest addition to the fleet builds on the design of sister ships EXPLORA I and EXPLORA II, while introducing expanded spaces, new dining concepts and enhanced wellness offerings designed for travelers seeking a more relaxed, residential-style experience at sea.

EXPLORA III offers an elevated public-space-per-guest ratio, with a focus on open spaces, natural light and ocean views. The ship features expanded Ocean Penthouses and Ocean Residences, including a second Owner’s Residence created in collaboration with designer Patricia Urquiola.

The ship also introduces several new onboard experiences, including The Cellar by Explora Journeys, featuring nearly 350 wine selections; The Chef’s Table by Explora Journeys, a personalized dining experience tailored to guest preferences; and Shore Club on 11, offering Mediterranean cuisine, handcrafted gelato and zero-proof cocktails.

Additional updates include a redesigned Ocean Wellness area combining spa and fitness facilities, new retail offerings featuring luxury brands such as Chopard, Piaget and Cartier, and the debut of Mandala by Ocean Atelier, the brand’s first jewelry boutique at sea.

EXPLORA III is also the first LNG-powered vessel in the Explora Journeys fleet, supporting the company’s ongoing investment in more advanced marine technologies. The ship includes shore power capability, allowing it to connect to onshore electricity in ports where infrastructure is available.

The ship’s inaugural season will include voyages through Northern Europe, Iceland, Greenland and North America.
