Celebrity Xcite Leads Celebrity Cruises 2028-29 Caribbean Plan

Celebrity Cruises has opened bookings for the inaugural season of Celebrity Xcite, anchoring a 2028-2029 Caribbean program that stretches from the Edge Series‘ first three-night sailings to 12-night itineraries. Ten ships will sail the region from Miami, Fort Lauderdale, Cape Canaveral and Tampa, with additional departures from San Juan, Puerto Rico.

Celebrity Xcite’s Big Debut

Celebrity Xcite, the sixth Edge Series ship, debuts in 2028 on seven-night itineraries from Miami, rotating among St. Thomas, Antigua, the British Virgin Islands, St. Kitts and Nevis, St. Maarten and the Dominican Republic.

“The Caribbean is our guests’ favorite place to vacation,” said Laura Hodges Bethge, president of Celebrity Cruises, in a press statement. “Whether it’s a long-awaited island getaway or a spontaneous weekend escape, we are creating new and fresh ways for guests to experience the region with Celebrity Cruises. With the debut of Celebrity Xcite, and more Edge Series ships in the Caribbean than ever before, our 2028 and 2029 season gives guests more ways to experience the destinations they love, paired with innovative design, elevated service, and unforgettable moments at sea that only Celebrity Cruises can deliver.”

The weekend option comes from Celebrity Beyond, which will run nine three-night sailings to The Bahamas from Fort Lauderdale from November 2028 through March 2029. Celebrity Eclipse adds weekend getaways from Fort Lauderdale and Celebrity Summit sails four- to five-night itineraries from Miami.

For clients with more time, Celebrity Beyond also operates eight- to 11-night sailings, six of them to the Panama Canal, while Celebrity Ascent covers nine to 12 nights with ports including Grand Cayman, Aruba and Turks and Caicos Islands. Celebrity Xcel splits its six- and eight-night routes between Aruba, Bonaire and Curacao and Western Caribbean stops in Mexico, Honduras and Grand Cayman.

Celebrity Silhouette brings the line’s first full summer season to the Southern Caribbean with 8- to 12-night sailings to Barbados, Martinique, Saint Lucia and Grenada, and from October sails 7-night San Juan departures with five port days each. Celebrity Reflection stays in the Caribbean year-round from Fort Lauderdale after a March 2027 transformation that adds 13 new spaces.

Celebrity Apex returns to Cape Canaveral with Eastern and Western Caribbean itineraries, and Celebrity Constellation sails seven nights from Tampa to Key West, The Bahamas and the Western Caribbean. Winter 2028-2029 sailings went on sale Nov. 3, and summer 2028 Caribbean sailings follow Dec. 9.

Why It Matters

Demand for this region is still climbing: 16.27 million passengers sailed the Caribbean, Bahamas and Bermuda in 2025, up 8.4 percent from 2024, according to Cruise Lines International Association’s (CLIA) 2026 State of the Cruise Industry report, and about half of recent cruisers in CLIA’s consumer survey drove to their embarkation port. With departures from four Florida ports and San Juan, advisors can match clients to the closest homeport, then sort by available time—pitching the three-night Edge Series weekends to clients short on vacation days, and the longer Panama Canal and summer Southern Caribbean sailings to clients who have already sailed the Eastern Caribbean.
