Costa Rica’s Andaz Peninsula Papagayo will debut a property-wide renovation this fall, enhancing its luxury offerings while staying rooted in the country’s “Pura Vida” ethos.

The resort, which overlooks Culebra Bay and features 152 guestrooms and suites plus 25 multi-bedroom villas, is introducing refreshed accommodations with natural textures, wood finishes, expanded living areas and upgraded technology.

On the culinary front, Rio Bhongo will relaunch as Gaio, a trattoria featuring Italian cuisine, an open kitchen, counter seating and a semi-private dining space for groups. The property’s popular nightlife venue, Chao Pescao, will evolve with a new live music stage and dedicated taco stand, while Onda Spa expands its wellness program with a Beauty Bar, villa-exclusive treatments and new hydrotherapy areas with F&B and retail options.

Part of the 1,400-acre Peninsula Papagayo community, the resort provides access to golf, surfing, aerial adventures and three pristine beaches. Casa Velas Launches Solo “Me-Moon” Retreat

Casa Velas, the adults-only luxury boutique hotel in Puerto Vallarta, has introduced a new “Me-Moon” retreat for solo travelers. Hotel AWA Introduces Guided Volcano Excursions

Travelers to Chile’s Lake District can now experience the region’s dramatic landscapes up close with new guided Volcano Excursions from Hotel AWA. The modern luxury retreat, set on the shores of Lake Llanquihue, has added small-group ascents led by certified mountain guides to its all-inclusive program.

Excursions range from moderate to demanding and include:

  • Osorno Volcano: A challenging ascent with glacier crossings and panoramic summit views.
  • Osorno Glacier Excursion: A day-long trek through ice formations and natural sculptures known as seracs, offering insight into glacier dynamics.
  • Casa Blanca Volcano: A moderately demanding climb with views of the Southern Andes and stops at the Raihuen Crater and summit at nearly 6,500 feet.
