Opening this spring and overlooking the beaches of Tel Aviv-Jaffa, The Setai Tel Aviv, housed in one of Israel’s most iconic and historical buildings, known locally as the Kishle, Turkish for “jailhouse,” is already—even before its opening—a member of The Leading Hotels of the World.

“I can say confidently that The Setai Tel Aviv is the most beautifully appointed hotel property in Israel,” says Avi Hormaro, CEO of Nakash Group, “and is setting a new standard for luxury in this country. Since the day we bought the asset in 2006, we knew we had something very unique on our hands and worked so carefully to preserve its rich, 1,000-year history. The results have been so special that Leading Hotels of the World welcomed us as a member six months before the property even opened, which we consider a great achievement.”

The building itself dates back to the 12th century thru Crusader, Napoleonic, Byzantine and Ottoman rule over Jaffa—one of the oldest port cities in the world—and the artifacts unearthed during excavations of the complex, including 12th century coins and medieval weapons, will also be on display for guests perusal.

Amenities will include a rooftop infinity pool, Turkish-inspired decor, and Jaya restaurant.
