Today, Discover Puerto Rico, in partnership with MRC Live & Alternative and ABC, announced that the “Dick Clark’s New Year’s Rockin’ Eve with Ryan Seacrest 2022” 50th year celebration will feature the show’s first-ever Spanish language countdown with Puerto Rico as the inaugural host destination. The Spanish language countdown festivities will take place on the grounds of the Puerto Rico Convention Center and DISTRITO T-Mobile, Puerto Rico’s newest entertainment and nightlife complex. The annual celebration, “Dick Clark’s New Year’s Rockin’ Eve with Ryan Seacrest,” will air on DEC. 31, live on ABC at 8:00 p.m. EST. Puerto Rico’s countdown will occur at 11:00 p.m. EST/12:00 a.m. AST.

We have so much to offer as a destination, and New Year’s Rockin’ Eve will be a testament to all that Puerto Rico has to offer.”
This year marks the 50th anniversary of “Dick Clark’s New Year’s Rockin’ Eve,” where Ryan Seacrest will oversee the New Year’s festivities in Times Square. Details around co-hosts, performers in Times Square and additional locations will be announced closer to show night.

The upcoming New Year’s celebration also coincides with Puerto Rico’s monumental year as the capital city of San Juan celebrates its 500th anniversary. This also complements the island’s existing holiday season festivities; a time of year that reflects the Island’s vibrant culture, food, dance and music that shine through local festivals and celebrations.

The celebrations will take place in Puerto Rico’s Convention Center and DISTRITO T-Mobile as well as outdoor surrounding areas with live performances both inside the convention center and in street parties, which invite the local community to participate. All attendees will be required to be vaccinated to attend the festivities. Puerto Rico is planning for about 4,000-5,000 attendees, but will have a more accurate number as the date gets closer. In addition, all safety protocols required at the time from the Department of Health will be implemented.
