Great Lakes cruising is getting even more fun. Beginning in May, Escanaba, MI, will be the newest port of call for American Queen Voyages. This is the first time vessels Ocean Navigator and Ocean Voyager will have visited this port.

“As we celebrate the addition of Escanaba to our ever-growing list of destinations and welcome new partnerships with local community members, we simultaneously push forward our company’s mission to help our guests explore lesser discovered America,” said Cindy D’Aoust, president of American Queen Voyages. “We look forward to an exciting season with new stops showcasing the many treasures across the Great Lakes.”

American Queen Voyages’ New Port of Call

Escanaba is located in Delta County, which extends along 200 miles of shoreline on Lake Michigan. Your clients will find themselves dining on freshly caught fish and enjoying the area’s many activities, including watersports and visits to historic parks, lighthouses, art galleries and more. If they love the outdoors, they’re in luck: this is deep forest country and its criss-crossed with trails for hiking and biking. River kayaking is also on the list of things to do.

Ocean Voyager and Ocean Navigator are small ships with a capacity for only 202 guests, making them agile enough to make stops other larger boats cannot. They ply the waters of the St. Lawrence seaway, the 5 Great Lakes and the Yucatan Peninsula in Mexico. Onshore excursions include hands-on experiences like tapping sap from ancient maple trees or sitting down to a home-cooked Amish meal. Onboard dining reflects the local culture, and the spa and infinity pool will help your clients unwind after a long day. To add to the experience, American Queen Voyages ensures there are destination experts onboard as well—historians and naturalists—to help your clients immerse themselves even more in the local culture, history and ecology. Each voyage has numerous luxury amenities included in the price, such as a one-night pre-cruise hotel stay, ground transfers between hotel and vessel, unlimited guided tours and more.
