For the third year in a row, Delta has been awarded Cirium’s Platinum Award for operational excellence as well as topped the rankings for being the most on-time airline in North America. “It’s incredible to witness Delta Air Lines winning its third consecutive Platinum Award and topping the North American Category,” said Cirium CEO Jeremy Bown in a media announcement. “Their relentless pursuit of efficiency and punctuality is commendable as we venture into 2024, a year brimming with promise for the aviation sector.”

Meanwhile the top performing global airports of 2023 were Minneapolis-St. Paul International Airport (MSP); Rajiv Gandhi International Airport (HYD); Kempegowda International Airport (BLR); El Dorado International Airport (BOG); and Salt Lake City International Airport (SLC).

Delta and Virgin Atlantic Airways Mark 10 Years as Partners

Delta Air Lines and Virgin Atlantic are celebrating 10 years of joint venture partnership since the two carriers joined forces to enhance consumer benefits between the U.S. and U.K. in 2014. The partnership has grown even stronger through the expanded joint venture with Air France-KLM launched in 2020, forming the leading transatlantic joint venture.

Since the partnership launched, the two global airline brands have grown their shared network, adding more routes and flights between the U.K. and in the U.S. and transporting nearly 40 million customers seamlessly across the Atlantic between the two countries.

Meanwhile, after launching new nonstop service between Sao Paulo, Brazil and Los Angeles in summer 2023, the joint venture between Delta and LATAM is growing, adding year-round service between Rio de Janeiro (GIG) and Atlanta as well as seasonal daily service between GIG and JFK.
