Explora Journeys’ first luxury ocean liner, EXPLORA I, is currently on its 7-day maiden journey with stops for its guests to drink in the beauty of Lerwick, Shetland Islands and Kirkwall, Orkney. Guests onboard will have a chance to kayak in Copenhagen, commune with the ponies in Shetland and eventually overnight in Reykjavik, Iceland, with enough time to explore the sites inside the Golden Circle. This is the first in a long line of exciting adventures lined up for EXPLORA I around the world.

EXPLORA I: Northern Europe, North America & Caribbean
After its maiden voyage, the ship will sail Northern Europe for several weeks on itineraries that include Copenhagen, Hamburg, the Netherlands, Ireland, Belgium, the UK, Iceland and more, with explorations of local culture, including the ancient Viking lore. A highlight is An Extended exploration from Scotland to Iceland that embarks in Southampton, UK, on Aug. 24, 2023, for a 16-night, 17-day journey that takes guests from a performance of the Military Tattoo in Edinburgh to Hadrian’s Wall to tasting Ireland’s finest whisky and more all the way to Reykjavik, Iceland.
The luxurious 461-oceanfront suite EXPLORA I will then cross the Atlantic Ocean to winter in North America and the warm waters of the Caribbean Sea through the spring, heading back to Europe and the Med for Summer 2024.
EXPLORA I is the first of Explora Journey’s fleet of luxury cruise ships, with EXLPORA II currently in the shipyard in Italy in preparation for entering service in August 2024. The third in the series will be the first of two LNG vessels in the brand’s fleet with a delivery date in 2026 and the fourth for 2027.
