Sri Lanka offers travelers an array of landscapes, beaches, and cultural heritage to explore, as well as unique experiences within such a compact location. Within Sri Lanka you will find 8 UNESCO World Heritage Sites, 826 miles of coastline,15 national parks with a wide variety of wildlife, about 500,000 acres of lush tea estates, 250 acres of botanical gardens, 350 waterfalls, 25,000 bodies of water, and a culture that extends back to over 2,500 years.

While on the Sri Lanka Discovery FAM, you will Visit the Kosgoda Turtle Hatchery on the Southwestern coast of Sri Lanka and learn more about the five endangered sea turtle species that come to the shores of Sri Lanka to nest and get a chance to see, touch and feed baby turtles; or even injured adult turtles that the Turtle Hatchery cares for. Afterwards, proceed to Galle Dutch Fort for a City Tour on Galle.

Then it’s off to the the coast of south Sri Lanka for the Mirissa whale watching experience. Here you’ll get to see the blue whale, the largest creature on earth. Nowhere in the world is it possible to see these ocean giants so close to shore. Your whale-watching guide will talk to you about the whale experience in Sri Lanka, the marine lifestyle, the conservation of the same and help you see these creatures in the wild.

The next day you’ll explore Udawalawe National Park. You’ll also visit Nuwara Eliya via Ella. On route you’ll visit the Mini Adams Peak and Nine Arch Bridge in Ella.

Hike up to the mountain of Little Adams Peak to take in the panoramic view. You should also take time to walk through lush green tea plantations, waterfalls and paddy fields while enjoying the sceneries. Afterwards, travelers will proceed to the famous Nine Arch Bridge, one of the examples of colonial-era railway construction in the country.

On the last day for exploring, you’ll visit a Tea Factory and learn about the productions of tea in Sri Lanka. Once in the tea factory, you will start out in the plantation to learn about how tea is cultivated, then visit the factory to see the ancient machines pre-dating the industrial revolution, and get a chance to roll and dry the tea. After you’ll head for a tour of the city of Kandy and visitthe Kandy Temple.

This FAM includes six nights hotels accommodations in four hotels, buffet breakfasts at the hotels, chauffeured air-conditioned vehicles for all transfers, excursions, and sightseeing tours, a local English speaking guide, monument entrance fees, the Mirissa whale watching experience, entrance to Udawalawe National Park as well as the Nine Arch Bridge, and the Temple of Tooth Relic.
