Summer 2024 will be one for the books for your cruise-loving clients when Disney Cruise Line finally unveils its brand-new island destination, Lighthouse Point. Located on the island of Eleuthera in The Bahamasthis new beach playground has something for every member of the family, no matter what their age.

“At Disney Cruise Line, we have a deep appreciation for the Bahamian community,” said Sharon Siskie, senior vice president and general manager of Disney Cruise Line, in a press statement. “We are connected in many ways, including our shared values of storytelling and hospitality. With the opening of Lighthouse Point, visitors from around the world will experience the magic of The Bahamas in a new way, one that truly celebrates its natural and cultural beauty.”

Disney Cruise Line Has Gone All Out at Lighthouse Point

While Lighthouse Point has been designed and developed by giving equal weight to the environment, the beauty of Bahamian culture and a deep respect for the importance of sustainability, at the end of the day, this Disney Cruise Line creation is 100 percent all about your clients having fun.

Of course, there’s no shortage of Disney characters around to keep the little entertained, but there’s much more to it. The family beach—all white sand beaches and turquoise waters—is huge, ensuring no one will run out of space for their lounge chairs. Taking up the east side of the island, it is just steps away from market-style eateries for when tummies get rumbling. The kiddos will love the family water play area with two slides, water drums, fountains and more, including a special area just for toddlers.

If your clients enjoy family time but want a little more peace and quite, there’s a separate beach on the south-western shore of the island with 20 premium family cabanas available for rent, including four double cabanas for larger groups. Massage services will be offered here.

And because parents need some time to themselves—not to mention traveling couples sans kids—Disney Cruise Line has added an adult-exclusive beach just north of the bustling family beach. This means tranquility on tap plus its own dedicated food pavilion for eats and adult beverages and six private cabanas (reservation only).

This is where the themed kids’ club comes in handy. This is where parents can drop off their littles under the watchful eye of professionally-trained Disney Cruise Line counselors and head to the adult beach while their kids play in the “Little Mermaid” splash pad area and eat in the dedicated restaurant. Big plus: there’s plenty of shade.

There’s no lack of culture on the island, with a Bahamian art and culture pavilion at the ready to share special programs and exhibitions so your clients can learn about the islands’ colorful traditions. Ask about the new collection of Port Adventures that will take your clients with local tour operators to enjoy the rest of the island of Eleuthera beyond Lighthouse Point.

The destination also boasts a covered games pavilion, but the outdoors is the place to be, with a volleyball court and gaga ball pit; watercraft and bicycle rentals; nature trails for hiking and biking; and more. And, of course, there’s plenty of wildlife, thanks to the company’s conservation efforts.

Note: Beach essentials are complimentary, including towels, chairs, umbrellas, lunch and tram transportation to get there. Stops at the new destination will be available on select sailings in the summer of 2024; more itinerary details will be released later.
