Culinary Options Abound on Icon of the Seas

Royal Caribbean’s new Icon of the Seas continues rolling out tantalizing videos of its many splendored wonders, and the eatery choices we’re reading about are truly off the charts. The first of the brand’s Icon Class ships has taken every single member of the family into account when it comes to dining options, creating over 20 spots to fill up on the good stuff, from walk-up windows in restaurants to show cooking and live music—with venues anywhere from casual to upscale. This is a veritable paradise for picky eaters of all ages.

Among the highlights: Surfside Eatery, a new buffet for families open for breakfast, lunch and dinner in Surfside, the neighborhood created for young families; Aquadome Market, the brand’s first food hall with five different food stalls that range from crepes to Asian and Mediterranean; and the swish Empire Supper Club, a high-end restaurant in the Central Park neighborhood with an eight-course dinner that’s an entire vibe, served with a side of music from a live three-piece band.

The Mexican Caribbean’s Five-Star Dining

Kempinski Hotel Cancun has five a la carte onsite restaurants, including the AAA Five-Diamond Fantino and Casitas, a romantic enclave on the beach. To add to its unique offer, the hotel has added the new Omakase Experience. This is an exclusive meal serving small groups of 2 to 4 guests and available every Thursday, Friday and Saturday at the D-Lounge with nonstop views of the coastline. This multi-course Japanese meal focuses on a selection of fresh fish, serving nigiri, sashimi and maki sushi, perfectly paired with traditional Japanese beer and sake.

The resort has also recently renovated the AAA Five-Diamond The Club Grill, where your clients can enjoy an upscale dining experience and live jazz. Don’t forget to recommend the mixology classes, where they can learn to make “The Club Grill Margarita” infused with Moet Imperial champagne or the signature “Margarita Kukulkan” with Don Julio Añejo tequila. Kempinski Hotel Cancun also offers guacamole-making sessions so they can replicate the flavors of Mexico at home.
