Center for Responsible Travel (CREST), a nonprofit research organization dedicated to increasing the positive global impact of responsible tourism, is moving its annual World Tourism Day forum online this year. This year’s topic is Lessons from COVID-19 for Tourism in a Changing Climate.

The panelists, which will be featured include:

  • Dr. Daniel Scott, executive director, Interdisciplinary Centre on Climate Change (IC3), University of Waterloo
  • Erin Francis-Cummings, president and CEO, destination analysts
  • Ewald Biemans, owner and CEO, Bucuti & Tara Beach Resort, Aruba

The panel will be moderated by Denaye Hinds, owner and Managing Director, JustaTAAD, LLC.

The panel coincides with the release of CREST’s annual metanalysis, The Case for Responsible Travel: Trends & Statistics, which will share key studies on COVID-19 and climate change, and the lessons that may be applied from the former to meet the challenges of the latter. The report’s key findings will be shared during the webinar and the panel of experts will discuss consumer, business, and destination trends in the context of recovery. They will also explore the unprecedented opportunity to mitigate two existential threats, climate change and COVID-19, with one coordinated approach, truly making the world a safer, more equitable, and more resilient place for all.

The webinar will take place on Tuesday, Sept. 29 at 11am-12:30pm EST
