5. Bitter End Yacht Club SUP and Yoga Retreat
From Jan. 31 to Feb. 5, 2017, the Bitter End Yacht Club in Virgin Gorda is hosting yoga and standup paddleboarding sessions during a 5-night retreat. Participants can take advantage of the property’s amenities, including a private deck with ocean views and swinging hammocks or venture farther out and explore hiking trails or go on a sailing trip to The Baths, where huge boulders and caverns create grottoes and saltwater pools ideal for exploring and snorkeling. 4. Sweethearts of the Caribbean Regatta
The 32nd Annual Sweethearts of the Caribbean and the 28th Annual Classic Yacht Regatta will return to the British Virgin Islands in February. In previous years the event has been held at the West End Yacht Club in Tortola, which hosts five annual races including Foxy’s Wooden Boat Regatta, the Firecracker 500, and the Gustav Wilmerding Memorial Challenge. 3. Rolex Swan Caribbean Cup
The third edition of the Rolex Swan Cup Caribbean will be held at the Yacht Club Costa Smeralda’s new clubhouse March 1-5. The event takes place every other year and is open to all Nautor’s Swan luxury sailing yachts. The event organizers—Rolex, Nautor’s Swan and the Yacht Club Costa Smeralda—have organized the biennial Rolex Swan Cup in Porto Cervo, Sardinia since the early 1980s. 2. Spring Regatta and Sailing Festival
The week-long BVI Spring Regatta and Sailing Festival—held March 27 to April 2—takes participants through the picturesque British Virgin Islands beginning at Nanny Cay. After two days of warm-up racing for the Sailing Festival, the 3-day BVI Spring Regatta begins. 1. Dark and Stormy Regatta
Now in its 20th year, the Dark and Stormy Regatta is a 3-day event in March showcasing vessels of all shapes and sizes in a low-intensity race from Trellis Bay to Anegada with the finish line at Tortola. Last year’s event included a skipper’s breakfast at De Loose Mongoose, bbq, live music and dancing in the sand, as well as a horseshoe contest, a kite building/flying contest and dinghy race.
