New Agent Portal
Star Clippers has debuted a new and upgraded travel agent portal. The new portal offers educational and marketing tools that help you sell Star Clippers in the Caribbean, the Med, and Asia. It features a calendar listing of Star Clippers promotions; a resource library with tools such as photo and video collections, customizable flyers, links to online and printable brochures, and downloadable logos and deck plans; training tools with links to webinars, travel partner programs, upcoming events and training programs; and charter and group materials such as brochures on charter and incentive travel, plus online quote request forms.

Destinations Reward Agent
Australia’s Northern Territory is gifting agents who book four nights or more in the destination a $100 gift card. The area, often referred to as “Australia’s Outback,” is home to the Uluru (Ayers Rock), and Kakadu National Park—the largest in Australia; and is also popular for Aboriginal cultural tourism. Northern Territory bookings must be made with one of the participating wholesale partners—Springboard, Down Under Answers, Goway, Aspire Downunder, Travel 2, and Qantas Vacations—to qualify for the incentive. In order to redeem the gift card, agents must complete the Aussie Specialist Northern Territory training module to become an NT expert (previous module completions do apply). Once complete, agents must book four nights (with deposits made) in the Northern Territory now through July 1, 2018 with the full payment made by Dec. 31, 2018.

On the other side of the world, the Los Angeles Tourism & Convention Board has launched L.A. Insider, a new online training tool that gives you tips on how to better sell the city and stay up-to-date with its latest offerings. The L.A. Insider gives agents access to L.A. Tourism’s marketing assets, sales collateral including fact sheets, maps, and videos, plus tours of local neighborhoods via virtual reality. There will also be updated information on Los Angeles International Airport’s multi-billion-dollar modernization program including multimedia assets that will be added as they’re available. Agents who complete the L.A. Insider training will also get access to discounts and specials around the city, plus the opportunity to participate in FAMs, and be entered to win a trip to one of L.A.’s awards shows.

The Wellness Factor
The booming wellness tourism sector has its own organization—the Wellness Tourism Association (WTA). This not-for-profit, privately held organization, created by a group of wellness industry executives, is setting out to help further define the industry, plus educate consumers to identify legitimate and credible wellness suppliers and operators. It also serves as a network for members of the wellness tourism industry. Membership to WTA will be open to qualifying travel advisors, destination marketing organizations, hotels and resorts, destination spas, tour operators, wellness educators, and others.
