Cool Gadgets & VIP Service
If you haven’t met Rose, let me introduce you. Rose is The Cosmopolitan of Las Vegas’ “mischief-maker” introduced to hotel guests last month. Rose, a chatbot, engages in real-time conversations with guests via text message while using wit to evoke the hotel’s spirited brand when communicating. Her role is to guide guests through art tours, arrange amenities to be delivered to guestrooms, suggest restaurant options, recommend cocktails, and play games with guests.

When they aren’t being entertained by Rose, guests can feel right at home in one of the property’s new 21 exclusive Boulevard Penthouses in the Boulevard Tower, ranging from 2,000 sq. ft. to 5,000 sq. ft. A Private Gaming Salon will be created for guests of these penthouses.

The resort’s Commit to Impulse package offers a 20 percent off a minimum 2-night stay, booked 60 days in advance, valid now through Sept. 30, 2017.

Wynn Las Vegas is also upping the ante when it comes to technology. In conjunction with Amazon, all of the resort’s 4,748 guestrooms will be equipped with Echo, Amazon’s hands-free voice-controlled speaker that controls lights, temperature, drapery, and TVs; additional integrations will be announced in the future. The installation is expected for completion by summer 2017.

W Hotels debuted this past December in Las Vegas with the new W Las Vegas (starting at $189 per night), located in a 289-room tower of the SLS Las Vegas. This hotel-within-a-hotel experience on the North End of the Vegas Strip offers guests a bit of an escape from the hustle and bustle.

“Agents should look to book the W Las Vegas to provide their clients with an unparalleled personal experience in Sin City. Travelers who come to Las Vegas on leisure are most often overlooked due to the attention garnered on the gambling individual,” says Christopher Baran, v.p. of sales, W Las Vegas. Adding that, “W Las Vegas breaks away from that tradition and allows the individual traveler to be focused on as the primary VIP for the hotel. This ability to provide a true luxury hotel experience first and then have additional access to the foils of the SLS casino and restaurants allows the W Las Vegas to be a truly unique experience in Las Vegas.” As Baran puts it, guests can also expect, “The level of personal service that Las Vegas was known for in its heyday.

“With the W Las Vegas being part of the overall complex of the SLS Las Vegas it allows guests to have the best of both worlds. Our guests will receive their loyalty points for their stay and enjoy a non-gaming, non-smoking hotel, access to WET Deck and FIT Fitness Center that is private for only W guests, and a W Hotels experience that will be complemented by having access to the world renowned food offerings located inside the SLS Las Vegas. This ability to have direct walking access to the SLS casino and restaurant offerings allows the W Las Vegas guest to feel like a true hotel VIP while not being caught in the middle of the busy chaos nature of the Las Vegas Strip,” adds Baran.

The WOW Factor
Last November saw the opening of The Henderson, a Salamander Beach & Spa Resort in Destin. The property, located next to a 208-acre environmentally protected state park, was designed to resemble a bygone grand seaside manor. The resort features 170 guestrooms and suites, a rooftop terrace, two pools, including one with a lazy river, and private beach access. The resort’s nature-inspired spa offers 11 treatment rooms, as well as a sauna and whirlpool overlooking the treetops of the neighboring state park. Rates start at $225 for guestrooms and suites range from $595 to $1,250.

This month, W South Beach unveils two revamped multi-million dollar accommodations, the E-WOW Suite and Penthouse, both of which Recommend had the opportunity to get a sneak peek of. The 2-bedroom Penthouse features breathtaking ocean views, multiple balconies, smart TVs, stunning art work, and the highlight—a rooftop featuring a plunge pool, an outdoor living room and dining area all with views of the ocean and Miami skyline. The E-WOW Suite has three bedrooms and bathrooms (a “smart” bathroom in the master), a spacious living room with an extensive art book collection, and terraces off every room with views of the ocean and Miami skyline. Guests of both the Penthouse and E-WOW Suite enjoy the services of a W Insider for VIP Concierge service who offers the brand’s signature Whatever/Whenever service through text message. Rates start at $12,000 per night.
