The Wellness Tourism Association introduces it's WTA Award for 2020.

The Wellness Tourism Association held its second annual meeting of membership at Canyon Ranch on May 29-30, 2019 where it introduced its WTA Annual Award.

The first WTA Annual Award (WTAAA) will be awarded at next year’s meeting. The award, which is open to both members and non-members, honors an organization, company, or individual that has successfully launched and implemented a wellness project or initiative in keeping with the associations mission “to shape and support sustainable wellness tourism for the global good.”

“This award will encourage individuals, companies and organizations to launch initiatives that support the sustainable future of wellness tourism and, in so doing, will not only support the mission of the WTA but will, ultimately, be for the global good,” says Andrew Gibson, Chairman of WTA.

WTA members make nominations for the awards and the WTA Board of Directors vote to compile a list of finalists. The association members then vote from the list to select a winner. There is no cost to be considered for an award, but those who are nominated and agree to be in the running, are asked to provide information on their project or initiative for members to review.

The first WTAAA will be presented in 2020 at the WTA’s annual meeting, with finalists invited and encouraged to attend the awards ceremony, or appoint a designated representative to attend on their behalf.
