Tauck has announced it will resume all scheduled fall departures of its 17-day Northern India & Nepal itinerary starting with the Oct. 20, 2015 departure (it took a 6-month hiatus following the April 25 earthquake).
The only area in Kathmandu on Tauck’s itinerary that had visible damage is Kathmandu Durbar Square, which is visited on Day 5 of the tour. Instead, Tauck will visit Pathan Durbar Square, which is also a UNESCO World Heritage site made up of temples, idols, open courts, water fountains, and more. During the 17-day itinerary, guests start in Delhi with a 3-night stay at The Oberoi, Gurgaon; next they fly to Nepal for a 3-night stay in Kathmandu where they’ll take a Himalayan sightseeing flight over Mount Everest and take part in a Q&A with a local sherpa, as well as visit Kopan Monastery in Bhaktapur. Then guests fly back to India to visit Agra, Khajuraho, Bandhavgarh, and Kanha National Park. Rates start at $9,940 pp dbl plus airfare. For more information, call (800) 468-2828 or visit tauck.com.
