You may have seen some buzz in the news regarding Brightline (soon to be Virgin Trains) opening a station on Walt Disney World in the next couple of years. Though a station on the Walt Disney World property is being talked about, is has not yet however been set in stone.
We reached out to Brightline who told us, “We are continuing to explore the possibility of building a station on Walt Disney World Resort property, which we believe will help transform the region,” says Ben Porritt, senior v.p. for Brightline. “A proposed station would provide a direct rail connection to Orlando International Airport and serve as the initial segment for Virgin Trains’ future extension to Tampa. A Disney station would offer the 126 million visitors and 21 million residents of Florida a car-free option to the state’s most visited attraction and one of the world’s greatest destinations.”
However, just because Orlando isn’t a done deal yet, doesn’t mean there aren’t plenty of expansions and offers you can offer to your clients now. Just this month, the Boca Raton City Council approved a long-term lease with Brightline for the construction of a train station and parking garage near the city’s Downtown Library. By the end of 2020, Boca Raton is expected to be the third new station in the brand’s south corridor, joining Aventura and PortMiami. Currently, there are stops available in West Palm Beach, Fort Lauderdale, and Miami. As you can see, the line is making its way up the Florida, with hopes of an Orlando-based station.
For those travelers heading to the Sunshine state this winter, they can start riding the Brightline now, which is offering 50 percent off on all group bookings of 16 passengers or more through Jan. 31, 2020. Groups can reserve a private 49- or 60-seat train car or full train buyout to experience Miami, Fort Lauderdale, and West Palm beach.
In addition, Brightline’s events team can work with guests to curate lasting memories to celebrate anniversaries, girls getaways, family reunions, kids birthday parties, holiday gatherings, and more. Couples can even tie the knot while cruising at 79 miles per hour with 10 or 200 of their closest friends. For wedding celebrations, trains can be outfitted with elegant floral bouquets.
“More guests are taking advantage of the unique experience and customization Brightline delivers with a group or private train car experience whether it is celebrating with close friends, co-workers or extended family,” said Marcia Lowther, senior v.p. of sales for Brightline in press materials. “A private train car is one of the most innovative ways to celebrate in South Florida, guaranteeing a one-of-a-kind experience.”
Private groups can also rent out all 240 seats and activate each car with unique themes complimented with specialty food and beverages, decorations, and music. Turning the train into an experiential journey, Brightline cars can transform into silent disco dance parties, karaoke sing-alongs, or even a jungle-themed oasis. You can also work with the Brightline sales team to create one-of-a-kind destination experiences in Miami, Fort Lauderdale, and West Palm Beach for your clients.
