This week, InterContinental Hotels Group (IHG) launched Voco, its new upscale hotel brand, which the brand signs the first opening to be in Australia.

Voco will first make its debut in Europe, the Middle East, Asia and Africa, with plans to eventually expand to the Americas and China. The Voco brand is expected to encompass more than 200 properties over the next 10 years. The brand will focus primarily on conversion opportunities working with individual and locally branded hotels, while leveraging IHG’s internal systems, such as revenue-management technology and the IHG Rewards Club loyalty program

The first Voco brand signing outside of Europe will be the Watermark Hotel & Spa Gold Coast, a 388-room property located on Australia’s Surfers Paradise beach. The property will be acquired by IHG partner SB&G and is expected to open under the Voco brand in late 2018.
