Hilton debuts SORO Montevideo, Curio Collection by Hilton, the brand’s property in Uruguay and the third Hilton property in the country.

“We are thrilled to welcome the first Curio Collection by Hilton in Uruguay and celebrate another milestone during Hilton’s momentous 100th anniversary year,” said Jorge Giannattasio, senior v.p. and head of operations, Caribbean and Latin America, Hilton in press materials. “We are committed to being the global leader in hospitality and SORO Montevideo, Curio Collection by Hilton will no doubt welcome guests to memorable and immersive experiences showcasing the culture of one of the top destinations in South America.”

The 40-guestroom boutique hotel is situated in Uruguay’s charming Pocitos neighborhood in Montevideo, which is recognized for its architectural beauty and a rich artistic community. Overlooking La Plaza Tomás Gomensoro, the hotel offers convenient access to the Rambla de Montevideo as well as Pocitos Beach, the local market of Villa Biarritz, and several malls and restaurants.

On property, guests can take advantage of wellness-focused amenities including a gym with panoramic terraces equipped with hydromassages and thermal conditioning that independently provide cooling and heating. The property will also include a rooftop jacuzzi with waterfront views as well as Tomas, a signature restaurant serving breakfast, lunch and dinner with a chef-driven menu featuring the day’s freshest products and ingredients.

The new building will incorporate renewable and energy-efficient technologies throughout including a solar collector system for water heating and natural lighting in all public spaces and guest rooms, in line with Hilton’s Travel with Purpose sustainable commitment with the environment.

“With the Latin American travel and tourism economy growing nearly 3 percent last year, we have focused our regional development in markets such as Uruguay where we can further expand our brands’ presence,” said Jenna Hackett, global head, Curio Collection by Hilton in press materials. “Through our partnership with World Trade Center Montevideo, we are looking forward to introducing guests to Curio Collection by Hilton and offering unique, authentic experiences that reflect the independent spirt of each of our hotels within the Collection.”

SORO Montevideo is part of Hilton Honors, the award-winning guest-loyalty program for Hilton’s 17 distinct hotel brands.
